Ultimate protection
The Mazda2 offers exceptional safety standards.
Manual transmission models feature a whole suite of active safety controls to enable you to drive with complete confidence.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) are all fitted as standard on Mazda2.
And, as well as this comprehensive range of active safety equipment, there's excellent protection in the event of an accident. Mazda's Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS), with its 'Triple H' body structure, provides a high level of protection, and the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) coordinates the safety equipment. And to minimise pedestrian injuries, a space between the bonnet and engine absorbs any impact, with the bonnet itself designed to disperse energy evenly.
Passive safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, three-point seat belts with pretensioners and load-limiters in the front, and impact absorbing materials in the B-pillars and roof lining. No wonder Mazda2 achieved a four star rating in Euro NCAP testing in both 2003 and 2004.
Complete peace of mind
The Mazda2 offers a very high level of security equipment as standard across the range, to ensure that you have peace of mind, no matter where your journey takes you.
A retractable key is available as standard. And all models are fitted as standard with remote central locking, dead locking, perimeter alarm and Thatcham approved engine immobiliser.
