Driving position

When you're sat in the driver's seat, comfort and safety come as standard. Whether you're male or female, tall or short, everything in the Mazda5 is tuned towards your total driving enjoyment. The seat and steering wheel are adaptable and versatile and the gear stick is also located centrally and elevated for ease of use.

With one of the best height ranges in its class, your seat can be precisely adjusted to suit you. This idea continues when reaching for the steering wheel - you won't have to stretch, just adjust to your optimum driving position. It's the same with the foot-to-pedal contact. Everything's easy to reach, and comfortable to use. You just relax - and drive.

Look out of your Mazda5 and you'll also see far more. That's because we've worked extensively on designing wide-ranging, clear sight lines. That means fewer blind spots and safer, less stressful driving - particularly useful when small children are buzzing around.

Karakuri concept

Comfort and practicality are the key themes with Mazda5 seats. With the industry premier of the Karakuri Seating system, whereby you can add a seventh seat in a matter of seconds, this is a Multi-Activity Vehicle with multi-purpose uses. The Karakuri centre seat can also be adapted to provide an armrest or lifted sideways to provide a walkway through to the rear seats

Every seat has an adjustable headrest and ample cushion width. They disperse your bodyweight, offering lower back support - perfect for long journeys.

The idea of 'flexibility' is central to the Mazda5's seating arrangements. These can be adjusted to suit any particular purpose: first rows can move forwards and backwards. Our double-folding second row seats can be smoothly and easily adjusted and, with their best-in-class slide range, you've plenty of room to sit in comfort.

Audio visuals system

Your own favourite songs, singing along with the kids or radio talk shows - one thing's for certain: your Mazda5 is a great communicator. There are four (six in the Sport derivative) speakers strategically spread throughout your car. There's an AM/FM radio and CD player fitted as standard, and all the switches and dials are easy to reach, with volume controls also on the steering wheel.

Comfort: Air Conditioning

With our air conditioning, you're in control. And it could hardly be easier to operate. Housed in the sleek instrument panel, at the top of an elevated centre stack, all the dials and switches are optimally large and easy to see and reach. For you, this means fewer distractions since using the controls soon comes as second nature.

That's why your Mazda5 has 40 storage spaces intuitively dotted all around its cabin. Cupholders, underseat compartments, door pockets, 11 litre glovebox, trays, boxes, hooks - there's even a concealed sub-trunk box for extra space. That way, everything's in place to help ease your journey.
